An introduction to modern physics To be done absolutely w/o any formulas and incomprehensible
specialist words. Modern physics is fascinating because of the very powerful means it has
given humanity: the atomic bomb, nuclear power, electronics, the laser These are a few
examples where theoretic understanding of natural phenomena led to the invention of the
corresponding tool.
But what is the nature of these phenomena? We will learn
about many fascinating ideas and their practical consequences. |

Despite it being mother's day - so that many were unable to come - this presentation went
ahead with the aplomb we've become accustomed to. The presentation topic - AN
INTRODUCTION TO ATOMIC PHYSICS - is not a piece of cake in itself. This did however not
stop our presenter THOMAS SCHWARZENBACH from tackling this subject head on - and passing
it onto us in mercifully understandable pockets of fascinating information and knowledge.
Moreover, he stuck to the promise of - no formulas!
Our host GIOVANNA LAGUTAINE, tickled us pink with champagne
and a delicious brunch buffet of homemade quiches, fresh stawberries, a
killer-apple-crumble and the like. We extend our heartiest thanks for a superb event! |
